Skill 3 – Verb & Tenses
A verb is a word that shows action (run, eat, play) or a state of being (be, seem, feel). Tense shows when the action happens: in the present, past, or future.
In English, verbs change form based on the tense:
- Present Tense: I run every day.
- Past Tense: I ran yesterday.
- Future Tense: I will run tomorrow.
Verbs can also be regular or irregular:
- Regular Verbs: Follow a consistent pattern (e.g., walk/walked).
- Irregular Verbs: Do not follow a consistent pattern (e.g., go/went).
