Skill 1 – Common Everyday Words

Vocabulary is the collection of words you know and use. At the basic level, you should focus on learning common, high-frequency words that help you speak and understand everyday English.

Building your vocabulary means:

• Learning new words and their meanings
• Practicing using these words in sentences
• Expanding your ability to express yourself in English
